Website & Clinic Policies

Privacy & Personal Information

At Gawler Veterinary Services, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

Any information collected through our website, booking systems, or in-clinic visits — including your name, contact details, and your pet’s medical history — is stored securely and used solely for the purpose of providing veterinary care and related services.

We do not sell, share, or distribute your personal information to third parties unless required by law or necessary to provide care (for example, referrals or laboratory services).

All medical records and client details are handled with strict confidentiality and in accordance with Australian privacy standards.

Website Use

The information provided on this website is intended for general guidance and educational purposes only. While we aim to keep all content accurate and up to date, it should not replace professional veterinary advice.

If you have concerns about your pet’s health, we always recommend contacting the clinic directly or booking an appointment with one of our vets.

Appointments & Cancellations

We kindly ask that all appointments are made in advance where possible. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the time to another patient.

For urgent or emergency situations, please call the clinic directly.

Payments & Services

Payment is required at the time of consultation, treatment, or collection of your pet unless prior arrangements have been made.

All services, treatments, and recommendations are provided with your pet’s best interest in mind, and we will always communicate clearly around costs and options before proceeding where possible.

Emergency & After-Hours Care

During clinic hours, we will always do our best to prioritise urgent cases. For after-hours emergencies, please refer to the contact information provided on our website or via our clinic voicemail for the nearest emergency veterinary service.

Paws in a Pod – Adoption Policy

Paws in a Pod is a not-for-profit adoption program run with care, intention, and the best interests of each kitten at heart.

To ensure every kitten is placed into the right home, the following policies apply:

Adoption Process

Submitting an enquiry or attending a meet and greet does not guarantee adoption.
Kittens may have multiple meet and greets with different potential adopters before a final decision is made.

The program organiser reserves the right to decline any adoption application at any stage of the process, without obligation to provide a reason. This decision is always made in the best interest of the kitten.

Final Decision

All adoption decisions are made solely at the discretion of the Paws in a Pod organiser.
This includes the right to change or withdraw an adoption at any point prior to final placement, if it is deemed necessary for the welfare of the kitten.

Suitability of Homes

Each kitten is unique, and their ideal home environment will vary.
Factors such as household dynamics, other pets, living arrangements, and lifestyle will all be considered when matching kittens to adopters.

The final decision regarding suitability rests with the program organiser.

Commitment to Animal Welfare

Our priority is ensuring that every kitten is placed into a safe, loving, and appropriate long-term home.
We appreciate your understanding that this process is careful and considered — and always centred around what is best for the animal.

If you have any questions about these policies, please don’t hesitate to contact our team.
